PRINCIPLE

The automated automated procedure is based on the property of the anionic surfactants ( LAS e ABSS ) to react with the cationic dye methylene blue  to form a blue colored complex, extractable with chloroform.

The determined anionic surfactant are called MBAS ( methylene blue active substance )

The color intensity of the chloroform phase is measured at 650 nm
